چکیده

In this paper, for the purpose of saving network resources, we first introduce and investigate a new problem referred to as the least hop(s) multiple additively constrained path (LHMACP) selection, which is NP-complete. Then, we propose the k-shortest paths Extended BellmanFord (k-EB) algorithm, which is capable of computing All Hops k-shortest Paths (AHKP) between a source and a destination. Through extensive analysis and simulations, we show that the heuristic algorithm, based on k-EB, is highly effective in finding a least hop path subject to multiple additive constraints with very low computational complexity; it achieves near 100% success ratio in finding a feasible path while minimizing its average hop count. q 2005 Elsevier B.V. A Randomized Algorithm for Finding a Path Subject to Multiple QoS Constraints

One of the key issues in providing end to end quality of service QoS guarantees in communi cation networks is how to determine a feasible route that satis es a set of QoS requirements e g bandwidth delay delay jitter and loss of a connection request while e ciently using network resources In general nding a path subject to multiple additive constraints such as delay and delay jitter is an NP co...

Contour Crafting Process Plan Optimization Part II: Multi–Machine Cases

Contour Crafting is an emerging technology that uses robotics to construct free form building structures by repeatedly laying down layers of material such as concrete. The Contour Crafting technology scales up automated additive fabrication from building small industrial parts to constructing buildings. Tool path planning and optimization for Contour Crafting benefit the technology by increasin...

An Eecient Algorithm for Finding a Path Subject to Two Additive Constraints *

One of the key issues in providing end-to-end quality-of-service (QoS) guarantees in packet networks is how to determine a feasible route that satisses a set of constraints. In general, nd-ing a path subject to multiple additive constraints (e.g., delay, delay-jitter) is an NP-complete problem that cannot be exactly solved in polynomial time. Accordingly, several heuristics and approximation al...

Smart forwarding technique for routing with multiple QoS constraints

Abstruct-QoS-constrained routing is considered as one of the key components to support quality of service in next-generation data networks. However, optimal routing problem subject to multiple constraints is NPhard in general. In this paper we propose a technique called “smart forwarding” which can be used in both distributed hop-by-hop QOS routing and centralized source-based routing. It enabl...

In recent years, several new architectures have been developed for supporting multimedia applications such as digital video and audio. However, quality-of-service (QoS) routing is an important element that is still missing from these architectures. In this paper, we consider a number of issues in QoS routing. We first examine the basic problem of QoS routing, namely, finding a path that satisfi...
